Description

The Jo is a wooden staff which, according to legend, was created in the 17th century by the samurai warrior Katsuyoshi after he was defeated with an iron-reinforced Bo against the two bokken of Musashi, the most famous of the samurai.

After an inspiring dream Katsuyoshi created this shorter weapon and developed different techniques with which he finally managed to defeat Musashi. Usually manufactured with different woods. In addition to Kobudo, it is usually used as a complement in Aikido. –
