Its primary use was to amplify the force of a blow by leverage or the inertial movement of the martial artist. Techniques of use are based on checking, blocking, holds, sweeps, grips, strikes, thrusts or joint dislocations and immobilisations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Generally for contact its shape is uniform with a diameter aprox. 3 cm and manufactured in different woods; for katas it is tapered.
